Actonians

The Actonians are a local drama group. We produce two shows a year in the Iron Acton Parish Hall. Our repertoire is very varied, ranging from comedies like The Importance of Being Earnest to The Tempest. We have a very good reputation for the quality of our work and for being a friendly group, with an active social calendar during and between productions.

Midsummer Night's Dream - June 2008

WORKSHOP AND OPEN AUDITIONS
7.30 pm Wednesday, August 25th Iron Acton Parish Hall

I am directing 'Clochemerle' for the Actonians for November 24 - 27. This adaptation of Gabriel Cehevalier's famous french novel is set in the Beaujolais region of France in 1922 where the Republican Mayor has the idea of bringing Clochemerle up to date by building an urinal!
The results are unexpected, not to say explosive, as it outrages the more conservative members of the community. This comedy has a 'cast of thousands' - in other words many good cameo roles and we Actonians are a friendly lot who welcome both novices and experienced actors. If you feel like putting your foot into the dramatic waters do come along - we also welcome those who would prefer to help back stage or front of house.
