Pig Race report...
Submitted by Grapevine on Mon, 03/11/2008 - 14:21.Many thanks to everyone who supported the Grand Pig Race in September. Over 80 people attended, many of them from within the Parish. There were also many people who couldn’t attend, but sent donations anyway. It was a hilarious evening – it’s amazing how much people will bet, and how loud they will cheer, for battery operated pigs!
The Blue Cross were delighted with the £1,850 we raised. Wendy Pinker, who also brought her beautiful hand made Nepali jewellery and bags in aid of her clinic in Nepal was equally pleased with her sales level.
Yate Library in temporary premises
Submitted by Grapevine on Sat, 25/10/2008 - 20:01.Following our successful bid to the Big Lottery Fund, we are now in a position to carry out a major refurbishment and extension to Yate Library. Building work begins on November 3rd 2008 and we are moving to temporary premises at 23 South Parade until December 2009.
