Iron Acton CC

Iron Acton Cricket Club is a friendly parish team which started out in 1996. In the early years we played both Sunday and Wednesday matches but nowadays we restrict ourselves to 20-over matches on Wednesday evenings from May to mid-July. Our home ground is Yate Outdoor Sports Centre (YOSC), which is situated behind Brimsham Green school. We only play 'friendlies' (no league matches) against other local teams such as Old Sodbury, Oldbury-on-Severn and Coaley. 

At the time of this update (6th April 2009), our summer fixtures have just been finalised and can now be viewed on the "What's On" page (mostly Wednesdays between 22nd April and 29th July). We look forward to another enjoyable season hopefully with some fine summer weather.

For a few years now we have been playing indoor cricket during the winter months in a round-robin tournament against Frenchay Hospital CC, Tortworth and Oldbury-on-Severn. For some yet unknown reason we seem to fare better at this form of cricket and have been in contention for the trophy which is awarded each year; though again we narrowly failed to lift the trophy this year.
