Iron Acton Cricket Club is a friendly parish team which started out in 1996. In the early years we played both Sunday and Wednesday matches but nowadays we restrict ourselves to 20-over matches on Wednesday evenings from May to mid-July. Our home ground is Yate Outdoor Sports Centre (YOSC), which is situated behind Brimsham Green school. We only play 'friendlies' (no league matches) against other local teams such as Old Sodbury, Oldbury-on-Severn and Coaley. 

We also play indoor cricket during the winter months in a round-robin tournament against Frenchay Hospital CC, Tortworth and Oldbury-on-Severn. For some yet unknown reason we seem to fare better at this form of cricket and have been in contention for the trophy which is awarded each year; though again we narrowly failed to lift the trophy this year.
