Acton Aid goes international
In September this year 5 members of Acton Aid ventured to Prague in the Czech Republic on the organisation's first ever international excursion.
The group enjoyed the sights, high culture (well two made a Vivaldi concert) and of course a few beers (a mandatory accompaniment for all AA business!). But it wasn't all beer and disco dancing... a sight the group do not intent to inflicit on the regulars at The Lamb. The group were pleased to deliver a large supply of English books to a kindergarten there that wouldn't otherwise have been able to afford to buy them. The children aged 4 - 7 are taught half the time in English so the books were gratefully received.
The committee are considering where next should benefit from the international outreach of Acton Aid. Suggestions to the secretary.
