Withdrawal of X27 bus service
IRON ACTON PARISH COUNCIL
Urgent Information for Residents

Withdrawal of X27 Bus Service
As you may have seen on the BBC news on 12th March 2009, First Bus has taken the decision to withdraw the X27 Bus Service from the Village with effect from 10th May 2009. This will mean that there will be no public bus service for the village from that date. The 329 night service (subsidised by South Gloucestershire Council) will remain.
First Bus has not entered into a period of consultation with users, and declares that ‘the tightening economy’ has brought about this situation. The Parish Council has endeavoured to speak with First Bus, but has received no response to date.
Your Parish Councillors have been informed by South Gloucestershire Council that they are in dialogue with other Bus Operators with a view to providing a replacement bus service for the Village.
The Parish Council will be meeting on Monday 16th March 2009 in the Marshall Rooms, High Street (beside St. James the Less Church) at 7.30pm. The withdrawal of the bus service is on the Agenda to be discussed. Residents are therefore invited to attend this meeting to discuss their concerns under Public Participation.
