Special guest Father Christmas... Snow guaranteed!!
Returning by popular demand for a third year, all parishioners, friends and families are warmly invited to get together to enter the festive spirit.
The events starts with an informal nativity-based service in the Church involving children from both North Road and Iron Acton schools and a real life donkey!!
After the service the action moves along the high street to the car park of the Parish Hall and the surrounding area, where you can buy some last minute gifts and treats from the craft stalls and enjoy a festive drink and a bite to eat. musical entertainment will be provided by the Dodington Brass Band, the Church Choir and a Hand-bell Ringing Ensemble. The young crowd will enjoy playing in the 'snow' and trying their luck on a number of side stalls.
In addition, photos of village scenes submitted for the recent Horticultural Show competition are being used to produce another Iron Acton calendar for 2010. This will be on sale in The Lamb from late November and also available on the Victorian Evening (as well as the Church Christmas Fayre).
Thanks to the money raised in previous years and a number of extremely generous donations, we plan to increase the number of Christmas trees and lights on houses in the village. This year efforts will concentrate on Chilworth Close, with the intention to include the Green and North Road in future years. Feedback on thetrees decorating the High Street last year wasvery favourable.
This year we encourage households in the High Street to enter into the festive spirit by creating "Christmas Windows" with a pantomine theme. Details will be posted separately and the best display will win a bottle of bubbly.
Please help us make this year's event as enjoyable as last and join in anyway you can.
Many thanks The Victorian Evening team
